Taxi drivers say the multi-million pound redevelopment of Newcastle’s Central Station – for many the gateway to the city and the region – is bringing misery to their livelihood.

It’s hoped the work, which is being funded by the council, the Government’s Regional Growth Fund and business development agency NE1, will bring lots of money into the local economy…
