The Difference Between Oral and Aural

It’s become obvious to me recently that few of us really know the difference between ‘aural’ and ‘oral’.

A small matter but when one is talking about ‘aural’ sex or an ‘oral’ exam the need to know the difference can avoid some embarrassing scrapes.

Aural: relating to hearing

Oral: spoken, not written or of, taken, or done by the mouth e.g. oral hygiene

Please feel free to comment with your own examples, questions or funny stories of when you or someone else has got the two confused!
