If the official street parties are anything to go by, there were loads more of us celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee than the Royal Wedding.
According to a survey – 7 million will be going to a street party.
Earlier this month we weren’t convinced about that…. Across the North East – there were only 50 applications to close streets for parties.
But now there are 215 official street parties planned across the North East.
And they’re just the ones councils know about – because the roads will be closed to make way for the fun.
Gateshead has the least – and County Durham has the most. So I went out gauging Jubilation Fever in Durham:
Then I was invited to join parties across the Tyne Valley on the Sunday.
Churches Together in Hexham in Northumberland invited the whole town…
