It was another busy Bonfire night for our fire brigades last night. Firefighters on Tyne and Wear received 476 calls a number of which were to impromptu bonfires that weren’t properly supervised. More worryingly there was also a report of fireworks being thrown at a crew who were at a fire.
Durham brigade received 167 calls and Northumberland said they had busy nights but there are no exact numbers as yet. I was out with the Swalwell crew in Gateshead:
