The transformation of Gateshead Town Centre has reached a landmark with the opening of the new Trinity Square development.

The site used to be dominated by the Get Carter Car Park – but it has had a £150million regeneration, funded by Tesco.

There are now 38 shops, flats for almost a thousand students, and a new cinema.

It’s a huge revamp of the city centre and the police have used it as an opportunity to make Trinity Square much easier to police.
